With time on mind
But human beings do not live just from hunting and work, they also live from curiosity and research. As soon as mankind realized that time passes (we are the only ones on the planet which perceive the passage of time), our species also discovered that there are past and future, life and death. This concern permeated the thinking of philosophers and physicists, from Aristotle to Leibniz, from Newton to Einstein. More recently, thinkers like Bertrand Russell and Domenico De Masi worried about the best ways to use time, including developing theories to reduce working hours and make better use of the so-called idle moments. Time has also inspired literature, theater, visual arts and music. Since discovering the passage of time, the human being has not stopped thinking about, calculating and trying to control it.
